Power is a right, not a privilege.

Our Vision.

Too many New Zealand families are forced to choose between heating their home and putting food on the table. That's not okay.

The Whānau Fund Charitable Trust was established by Nau Mai Rā Limited with one goal: no whānau should ever go cold. We fund initiatives across electricity bill relief, Healthy Homes, and Power Education, so families stay warm, healthy, and connected.

110,000

households unable to adequately heat their homes (MBIE, 2022)

300,000

people living in cold or damp conditions - right here in Aotearoa.

Our Community Partners

We partner with local community organisations who support whānau to access resources for healthier homes, improve power literacy, and provide financial relief to subsidise electricity bills.

Our Trustees

The Whānau Fund Charitable Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees with experience across finance, law, community and the electricity industry.
